The best place to stay in Puerto Princesa, Palawan: Princesa Garden Island Resort & Spa!

If there are words that would describe Princesa Garden Island Resort & Spa, I would definitely quote it as "Paradise on Earth." Every corner of the resort is very relaxing and pleasing to the eyes. Honestly, it has been the best resort that I have ever been to so far!

The resort is accessibly situated at Brgy. Bancao Bancao, Puerto Princesa around 5 minutes from Puerto Princesa International airport with no fuss and tiring feeling during the trip. Upon our arrival, we had our breakfast at Rice restaurant. This is one of the things that I have enjoyed in the hotel because lo and behold, they have almost everything to offer with their roughly around 50-80 food choices. My faves are their in-house strawberry yogurt, freshly cooked noodles, ham & cheese omelette.

(I had my breakfast with this view)

On our first day, we decided to just enjoy the room, the pool and roam around the resort. We got the One Bedroom Elite Ocean View Suite which is so spacious for a party of two. The amazing part of it? It has an access to their pool and has its own Jacuzzi with a really nice view!

(Bedroom, Dining are with kitchen on the side, living room with 46" LED TV)

(Outside Jacuzzi and view from outside of our room with pool access area)

We had our early dinner at Tomato & Basil. The restaurant is known for their pizzas that cooked in Pugon Oven! The wood-burning "pugon" oven provides the food with a cooking and above all with a wholesome flavor that cannot be achieved with other types of cooking.

As from their tagline "Escape completely" really lives up with my experiences with the resort since they have so many activities. Our second day had been a very exciting one since we were able to go to their Sand bar! The walkway going to the Sand bar is an experience itself. The view very is mesmerizing and you will be able to see some plane landing in the airport. (Some other resort activities and facilities are as follows: Gym, Billiards, Darts, Soccer Table, Seaside Volleyball, and Jumbo Chess)

(Hanging Bridge; another option going to the Sand bar and Water Villa area)

We were able to visit the infamous Water Villas. These rooms are the high end rooms that are perfect for honeymooners - it has one king size bed over looking with unobstructed view of the sea, outside Jacuzzi and hammock.

At night, we tried their Hilot Spa. You'll feel the luxurious vibe with their services in their spa because of the ambiance and the treatment itself! We got knocked out during the session and felt so rejuvenated when the session was done.

(Hilot Spa room, Shower room, Indoor Spa Jacuzzi)

We tried our best to do the kayaking and stand up paddle early morning of our last day. Again, the view just took our breath away. It was such a paradise! You'll have a view of the mangroves and on the other side, a clear blue skies kissing the ocean.

(Stand Up Paddle & Kayaking experience)

We got a little taste of Thailand in Princesa Garden Island Resort & Spa's very own Golden Elephant. This is one of the restaurants with best views that I've ever been to. Their Pad Thai is definitely a must try!

The 3 day experience in Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa feels like just a dream. A good place like this should be showcased to everyone. The experience wouldn't be complete without their very accommodating staff who genuinely welcomed us at their resort. If you're looking for the best place in Puerto Princesa, I'd definitely recommend this one. It's worth every peso and would exceed your expectation!

5 reasons why I love flying with Philippine Airlines

At a young age, I've been exposed to travelling. I remember when we only used to go to Baguio, and Tagaytay that turned then to several Hong Kong trips, a few visits to different Asian countries, alongside with winter and summer experiences in States. I remember my first plane ride vividly  my heart was beating fast; a mixture of excitement and  anxiousness. I was so giddy because it was my first time and, as they always say, nothing beats your first experience.

There's something about the airport, airplane rides and travelling that makes me feel complete. Every trip has its own story and every trip is a different experience that brings huge impact to my life. Nevertheless, that is why I always choose the best airline for me because it is part of my whole travel experience; it starts and ends my whole journey. So why do I love flying with PAL?

      1. Quality Service of their Cabin Crew
  • As a Travel Management graduate from UST, I, know how imbued with great qualities does PAL cabin crew does have — from warm hospitality, to infectious smiles and highly satisfactory customer service, they only choose from the pool of the best of the best.

      2. Baggage Allowance
  • This has been one of the winning features of PAL. While most the airlines for domestic trips only allow 7kg hand carry bags, PAL stands out with 20kg or 30 kg check-in baggage plus additional 7kg for hand carry bag. And yes, I don't know how to pack light that is why I'd always choose PAL.

      3. Ease of Check-in and boarding
  • Let's be honest, long queues in check-in counters and boarding gates are the worst especially when you're trying to catch your flight on time. Which most likely happens here in Manila due to unpredictable traffic in the metro. But with my experience with PAL, it was so easy! Check-in procedures are smooth and there are no long queues. As for boarding, they are very organized, I may say.

      4. Comfortable Seats
  • Their seats are also their winning features! They have spacious leg rooms as compared to other airlines. Also, their seats doesn't feel like "bus" seats, you can actually recline and sit comfortably during the trip.

      5. Flag Carrier
  • This has always been one of the reasons why I love PAL: being associated as the country's flag carrier means that they have to go beyond and exceed the quality and standard that is expected in an airline. PAL has always been representing our country in a very sophisticated manner and, it's just one of the small things that makes me feel proud to be a Filipino.

Most of us would usually go for what's the cheapest when it comes to airfares but if we would just weigh in the quality of service, the safety and security that we are getting in return of a certain price, maybe by then people would start to go for something they truly deserve. As what the others may say, 'why would you settle for less, if you've already tried the best.'
